چکیده
Algae provide an alternative, sustainable, and environmentally beneficial method of dyetreatment. In this study, algae were successfully used to remove methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solutions. The effects several parameters, such as initial concentration MB (5–25 mg L−1), dosage (0.02–0.1 g mL−1), temperature (4, 20, 30 °C), contact time (24, 48, 72 84 h), on removal investigated. addition, the characterization before after treatment was achieved using UV-spectrophotometer Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). experimental data applied three kinetic models, namely pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, Elvoich. Moreover, Langmuir, Freundlich, Dubinin–Raduskevich (D–R), Temkin isotherm models tested. maximum efficiency (~96%) accomplished at optimum conditions (15 (30 (0.06 mL−1) 60 min time. follows pseudo-second-order model (R2 > 0.999), is best fitted by Langmuir 0.9300).

Background & objectives: Dyes are one of the main environmental pollutants of textile industrial wastewater which are toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, and non-biodegradable. Therefore, in this study, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was used to investigate the operational parameters and determine the optimum conditions for the removal of acid blue 113 in the presence of bentonite. Methods: The...
متن کاملAdsorption Isotherm, Kinetic, and Thermodynamic Studies for Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solution by Needles of Pinus Sylvestris L
The adsorption characteristics of methylene blue (MB) onto needles of Pinus sylvestris L., an unconventional bio-adsorbent, were investigated. Maximum removal of MB was found to occur at initial pH 5. Adsorption capacity increased from 84.46 to 99.73 mg/g with an increase in temperature from 20 to 45°C at 200 mg/L of initial MB concentration. Adsorption isotherms were modeled with the Langmuir,...
متن کاملRemoval of methylene blue from aqueous solutions using modified clay
Introduction: Discharging of industrial colored wastewaters especially into aqueous environments can cause adverse effects on aquatic life due to their toxic natures. In this study, montmorillonite modified by hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HDTMA-Mt) was used for the adsorption of methylene blue (MB). Materials and Methods: The influence of surfactant loading rate, contact time, pH, adso...
